CONCLUSION

What follows is a brief reference to the other pillars of belief indicated by Divine Unity.

Come now and consider at least once the three fruits, the three facts that necessitate Divine Unity and the affirmation of it and the three proofs which are explained under the headings of The First, Second, and Third Stations: is it at all possible that the All-Powerful, All-Wise, All-Compassionate and All-Knowing Maker, Who has absolute sovereignty and control over the universe, Who never ignores or overlooks even the smallest cure or the most meager thanks, Who is not indifferent toward even the minutest example of art such as that which is manifested in the wing of a fly, and Who does not delegate it to others, Who attaches to the lowliest common seed as many duties and instances of wisdom as He does to a huge tree, and Who makes His Mercy, Compassion and Wisdom perceivable through all His arts, and makes Himself known through every means and loved through every favor—is it at all possible that He should be indifferent toward the virtues of the Muhammadan Truth,13 upon him be peace and blessings, his glorifications and the lights of Islam?

Is it at all possible that the Messengership of Muhammad, upon him be peace and blessings, which adorns all creatures and fills them with joy, which illuminates the universe and causes the heavens and earth to resonate with the sounds of happiness and triumph, which has kept almost half of the world and a fifth of humanity under its physical and spiritual rule for fourteen centuries and has perpetuated that glorious rule on account of the Creator of the universe and in His Name—is it at all possible that his Messengership is not one of The Maker’s most important purposes for the existence of the universe, or that it is one of His most important lights and mirrors? Is it possible that the other Prophets, who served the same truths as Muhammad, upon him be peace and blessings, should not also have been that Maker’s Messengers, friends and officials? God forbid, to the number of the miracles of the Prophet!

And is it at all possible that the All-Wise and All-Compassionate Creator, Who attaches a hundred fruits and instances of wisdom to the least significant thing, such as a branch or a twig, and makes His Lordship known and loved through extraordinary instances of His Wisdom and all-inclusive Mercifulness—is it at all possible that He should Himself deny or cause to be denied all His Wisdom and Mercy, and even His Lordship and Perfections, by not bringing about the Resurrection, which is as easy for His Power as the creation of spring, or by not opening up an abode of happiness and eternal permanence? Is it at all possible that He should condemn to eternal annihilation all those creatures whom He loves so much? God forbid, a hundred thousand times! God’s Absolute Grace and Beauty are entirely exempt from such an absolute abomination.

Said Nursi

13 The Muhammadan Truth is the universal ontological, moral, and spiritual truth or meaning that Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace and blessings, represents as the Messenger of God. (Tr.)
